Charles Albert Cossairt, 86, of Cape Girardeau died Wednesday, Aug. 20, 2003, at Southeast Missouri Hospital.
He was born Oct. 30, 1916, at Bloomfield, Mo., son of Jacob and Lura Lee Huggins Cossairt. He and Katherine McMullin were married in 1940 at Bloomfield.
Cossairt grew up in Bloomfield and graduated from a business college. He was a major in the U.S. Air Force more than 20 years, retiring Oct. 30, 1976. He then was a member of the Air Force Reserve. He moved to Cape Girardeau in 1980 from San Antonio, Texas. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Cape Girardeau.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Charles Cossairt of Lubbock, Texas; a brother, Ralph Cossairt of Paducah, Ky.; and a sister, Ruth Wilson of Bloomfield.
Friends may call at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home from 6 to 8 p.m. today.
Graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Cape County Memorial Park, with the Rev. Paul Kabo Jr. officiating. Military rites will be conduced by VFW Post 3838.
