Charles Grady Beardslee, 84, of Maineville, Ohio, died Thursday, Jan. 15, 2004, at Meadowbrook Care Center in Montgomery, Ohio.
He was born Jan. 14, 1920, at Blodgett, Mo., son of Paul and Frances Groves Beardslee. He and Virginia Porch were married April 22, 1956.
A veteran of World War II, Beardslee served 27 1/2 years in the U. S. Army, retiring as a lieutenant colonel.
He was a member of Broadway Methodist Church in Scott City, and H.O. Grauel Masonic Lodge in Cape Girardeau. He moved to Maineville two years ago from Scott City.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Douglas Beardslee of Cincinnati, Ohio, Jeff Beardslee of Maineville; a daughter, Cheryl Beardslee of Cincinnati; and two grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters.
Friends may call at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Scott City from 6 to 8 p.m. today.
The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Sunday at the chapel, with the Rev. Ron Dunavin officiating. Burial will be in Oakdale Cemetery at Commerce, Mo., with full military rites by Missouri Honors Program.
