COBDEN, Ill. -- Charles Anderson, 86, of Cobden died Saturday, March 30, 1996, at the Illinois Veterans Home in Anna.
He was born March 25, 1910, to Ernest and Estelle Harrell Anderson in Cobden.
He married Lillian Wolfe on March 20, 1934.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Charles R. Anderson of St. John's, Ind., and Michael Anderson of Crown Point, Ind.; a daughter Vida Mileris of Batavia, Ill.; nine grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a sister and three brothers.
Anderson was a member of the Anna Church of the Nazarene and American Legion Post 259. He also was a past town board member, a founder of the Cobden Volunteer Fire Department and a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II.
Anderson retired in 1975 as a supervisor of transportation with the Breckenridge Job Corps Center.
Friends may call at Lutz & Rendleman funeral home in Cobden today after 5 p.m. and the Anna Church of the Nazarene Monday after 10 a.m.
Funeral service will be at the Anna Church of the Nazarene Monday at 11 a.m., with the Rev. James Hart officiating.
Burial with full military honor provided by American Legion Post 259 will be at Cobden Cemetery.
