EAST PRAIRIE, Mo. -- Charles Wesley Adkisson, 79, died Monday, March 12, 2018, at his home in East Prairie.

He was born Jan. 17, 1939, in Mississippi County, Missouri, to the late Robert and Howard Lee Harr Adkisson. Charles was a farmer and enjoyed spending time with his family. He was a member of First Christian Church in East Prairie.

On July 7, 1957, he married Cecilia LaPlant; she survives of the home.

Additional survivors include two sons, Tim Adkisson of Benton, Missouri, and JoRita Adkisson and Chris and Laurel Adkisson of Cape Girardeau; and a daughter, Stephanie Adkisson Vickery of St. Louis. Also surviving are two grandchildren, Josh Adkisson of Brewton, Alabama, and Jason Adkisson and Jennifer Morrow of Benton; two great grandchildren, Mattie Claire Adkisson and Chase Morrow; and a host of nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Frankie Owens and Jean Nall.

Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until time of memorial service Friday at Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie.

Funeral will be at 2 p.m. at the funeral home, with Bro. Bill Adkisson officiating. Interment will follow in East Prairie Memorial Park Cemetery.
