CHARLESTON, Mo. -- Charlene Kunz Hillhouse, age 81, a resident of Charleston, died at 9:30 a.m. Friday, Jan. 24, 2003, at the Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston, Mo. She was born Aug. 7, 1921, in Wyatt, Mo., to the late Charles Anthony and Anna Lee Hutcheson Kunz. She lived her entire life in Mississippi County and was a member of the Wyatt United Methodist Church...

CHARLESTON, Mo. -- Charlene Kunz Hillhouse, age 81, a resident of Charleston, died at 9:30 a.m. Friday, Jan. 24, 2003, at the Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston, Mo.

She was born Aug. 7, 1921, in Wyatt, Mo., to the late Charles Anthony and Anna Lee Hutcheson Kunz. She lived her entire life in Mississippi County and was a member of the Wyatt United Methodist Church.

On April 9, 1942, she married Glenn Marshall Hillhouse Sr., who preceded her in death on Sept. 14, 1986.

Surviving are one son, Glenn M. Hillhouse Jr. of Charleston; three daughters, Patricia H. Finney of Nashville, Tenn., Marilyn J. Hillhouse and Margaret H. Dean, both of Charleston; one sister, Louise Kunz Moreton of Wyatt; and five grandchildren, Benjamin Hillhouse, Clayton Hillhouse, Christopher Layton, David Finney and Daniel Finney.

One sister, Marion Kunz Shively, preceded her in death.

Friends may call at the family home from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. today, Jan. 26, 2003. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday, Jan. 27, 2003, at the Wyatt United Methodist Church with Rev. Harold Norton, pastor of the United Methodist Church in Steele, officiating.

Interment will follow in the IOOF. Cemetery under the direction of McMikle Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Benjamin Hillhouse, Clayton Hillhouse, Christopher Layton, David Finney, Daniel Finney; and cousin Richard Hutcheson.
