Chalmer Weinkein

PERRYVILLE, Mo. -- Chalmer J. Weinkein, 74, of Perryville died Friday, May 27, 2005, at Southeast Missouri Hospital.

He was born June 4, 1930, at Perryville, son of Glennon G. and Marie A. Gebhardt Weinkein. He and Venita M. Kline were married Feb. 11, 1950.

Weinkein was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Highland, Mo., and the American Legion Booster. He worked for the Perryville public works department.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, Michael Weinkein of Sierra Vista, Ariz., Roger Weinkein of Perryville; a daughter, Tammy Morrison of Gordonville; a sister, Thelma Welland of Perryville; six grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother and a grandson.

Friends may call from 4 to 9 p.m. Sunday, and Monday from 6:30 to 9:15 a.m. at Young and Sons Funeral Home. A Catholic wake will be at 7 p.m. Sunday; rosary will be at 8:15 a.m. Monday.

Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Joseph Catholic Church, with the Rev. Robert Brockland officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
