CHARLESTON -- Cecil Lee Williams, 60, of Charleston died Wednesday, April 29, 1998, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
He was born July 12, 1937, in East Prairie, son of Cecil Ray and Alma Doris Edwards Williams. He and Bernice E. Myers were married Dec. 29, 1956, in Corinth, Miss.
Williams was a logger. He had been a member of NTL Boilermakers Union in Kansas City since 1966.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Clinton Williams of Anniston, Christopher Williams of Arlington, Ky.; two daughters, Sherry Plunk of Sikeston, Cecelia Williams of Wyatt; his mother of East Prairie.
Other survivors include six brothers, Howard, Larry, Jerry and Kevin Williams, all of East Prairie, Ronald Williams of Bardwell, Ky., Charles Williams of Charleston; a sister, Marilyn McCoy of East Prairie; 13 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son.
Friends may call at Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie after 5 p.m. today.
Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with Thomas Snavely and Gerald Summers officiating. Burial will be in East Prairie Memorial Park Cemetery.
