Graveside service for Cecil David Shearer of Chesterfield will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Cape County Memorial Park. The Rev. John Ferguson will officiate.
Friends may call at Ford and Sons Mt. Auburn Chapel from 4-6 p.m. Sunday.
Shearer, 90, died Thursday, March 30, 2000, at Brooking Park Nursing Home in Chesterfield.
He was born March 19, 1910, in Brookland, Ark., son of Isom and Elizabeth Robinson Shearer. He and Madge Denton were married April 10, 1939, in Lunsford, Ark. She died March 31, 1989.
Shearer owned and operated a Shelter Insurance Agency in Cape Girardeau 46 years. He worked for Metropolitan Life Insurance in Sikeston before moving to Cape Girardeau in 1951.
He was a member of the Shriners in St. Louis, and Sikeston Masonic Lodge 310.
Survivors include a daughter, Jane Edwards of Chesterfield; two sisters, Edith Potter of Los Alamos, N.M., Helen Woods of Memphis, Tenn.; and a grandson.
He was preceded in death by a brother and a sister.
