SIKESTON -- Cecil Mott, 81, formerly of Sikeston, died Tuesday, March 7, 2000, at Missouri Veterans Home in Cape Girardeau.
He was born Aug. 13, 1918, at Dexter, son of Dellar Lee and Katie Ellen Stovall Mott. He and Glenda Juanita Mills were married April 10, 1937. She died Sept. 30, 1990.
Mott worked at Hart's Bakery many years.
He was a seaman first class in the U.S. Navy during World War II, serving on the USS Casa Blanca.
Survivors include a son, Bob Mott of Kaneohe, Hawaii; two daughters, Darlene Hamilton of Avon, Ind., Cecilia Duley of Gordonville; two brothers, James Freeland of Murray, Ky., Lester Freeland of Henderson, Ky.; a sister, Toni Conners of Campbell; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, two sisters, and a grandson.
Friends may call at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel from 5-8 p.m. today.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Virgil Porter officiating. Burial will be in Garden of Memories Cemetery.
