JONESBORO, Ill. -- Cecil Hammon, 83, of Jonesboro died Sunday, Jan. 24, 1999, at Jonesboro Healthcare Center. She was born Dec. 29, 1915, at Jonesboro, daughter of Florence and Alice Axely Brown. She and Glee Hammon were married Sept. 12, 1936, in Murphysboro. He died Jan. 19, 1974...

JONESBORO, Ill. -- Cecil Hammon, 83, of Jonesboro died Sunday, Jan. 24, 1999, at Jonesboro Healthcare Center.

She was born Dec. 29, 1915, at Jonesboro, daughter of Florence and Alice Axely Brown. She and Glee Hammon were married Sept. 12, 1936, in Murphysboro. He died Jan. 19, 1974.

Survivors include a son, Donald Hammon of Lick Creek; two sisters, Alice West of Anna, Martha Stone of Oraville; and two grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a brother and three sisters.

Friends may call at Hileman and Parr Funeral Home in Jonesboro after 4 p.m. today.

Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with the Revs. Joe Aldridge and Marion Mosley officiating. Burial will be in Jonesboro Cemetery.
