BENTON, Mo. -- Cecil V. Ford, 83, of Benton died Saturday, Oct. 28, 2000, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
He was born March 21, 1917, at Harrisburg, Ill., son of Gilbert and Maude Church Ford. He and Charlsie "Sal" Earnheart were married Nov. 1, 1941, in St. Louis. She died Jan. 27, 1983.
He had worked as a plumber in St. Louis for more than 15 years. He also was a self-employed farmer, farming in the Benton, LaForge, Mo., and Sikeston, Mo., areas. He was a member of the VFW post in Sikeston and the Sikeston Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 3319.
Survivors include a daughter, Diana Jewell of Kelso, Mo.; a sister, Avis Lane of Charleston, Mo.; and two grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by five brothers and two sisters.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel in Sikeston.
Funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the chapel with the Rev. Dewayne Coleman officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery in Sikeston.
