SIKESTON -- Funeral service for C.D. Martin Jr. of Sikeston will be held at 1 p.m. today at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel. The Revs. Greg Robertson and Dean Heady will officiate, with burial in IOOF Cemetery at Charleston.
Friends may call at the chapel after 11 a.m.
Martin, 79, died Monday, Dec. 9, 1996, at Missouri Delta Medical Center.
He was born April 8, 1917, in Charleston, son of Charles Dunning and Clara Belle Brawner Martin Sr. He and Dorothy Lovett were married June 8, 1935.
Martin retired as a mechanic with Interstate Bakery. He was a member of Lusk Chapel Methodist Church.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Charles Martin of Paducah, Ky., John Martin of Sikeston; a daughter, Clara Tyler of Jackson; a brother, Alfred Martin of Charleston; three sisters, Addie Linebaugh of St. Louis, Rosalee Fluegge and Martha Snowden of Charleston; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a brother and sister.
