Carroll Ann Kirchherr, 67, of Jackson passed away Tuesday, Jan. 9, 2018, surrounded by her loving family, at her home.
She was born Dec. 11, 1950, in Pike County, Missouri, daughter of Herbert Orville and Annabel Carroll Griffith. She and Robert "Bob" Kirchherr were married Oct. 27, 1973.
Carroll was a graduate of Louisiana High School in Louisiana, Missouri. She earned a bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education from Truman State (formerly Northeast Missouri State University), and a master's degree in Elementary Counseling from Southeast Missouri State University. She taught school many years, but especially enjoyed teaching kindergarten.
Carroll had a joy for life and liked to travel. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Jackson.
Survivors include her loving husband of 44 years, Bob, of Jackson; two children, Adam Kirchherr of Cape Girardeau and Jill (Bradley) DeRoo of Chicago; two siblings, Dan (Sandra) Griffith of Southport, North Carolina, and Louise (Richard) Hedges of Frankford, Missouri; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
The visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with the Revs. Audie Long and Don Estes officiating. Burial will follow at Russell Heights Cemetery in Jackson.
Memorials may take the form of contributions to World Vision, a global Christian humanitarian organization battling the causes of poverty and injustice.
