He was born Oct. 7, 1926, at White Water, S.D., son of Albert and Lula Buskirk Gerig. He married Dorothy Ann Deneke. Gerig was a member of First United Methodist Church. He had served in the United States Navy. Survivors include his wife; two sons, Robert Gerig of Carbondale, Ill., and John Gerig of Alexandria, Va.; a daughter, Mary Ann Turner of Belgrade, Mo.; and five grandsons...

Survivors include his wife; two sons, Robert Gerig of Carbondale, Ill., and John Gerig of Alexandria, Va.; a daughter, Mary Ann Turner of Belgrade, Mo.; and five grandsons.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother and a sister.

Friends may call from 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 22, at First United Methodist Church in Park Hills. A memorial service will follow at 3 p.m., with the Rev. Eddie Bone officiating.
