ULLIN, Ill. -- Carrie Kay Turner, 86, of Ullin, formerly of Pulaski and Mounds, Ill., died Sunday, Feb. 17, 2008, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau. She was born Sept. 1, 1921, in Barlow, Ky., daughter of Charles Eric and Goldie Mae Moore McReynolds. She and Lloyd Turner were married Jan. 29, 1954. He died July 17, 1991...

ULLIN, Ill. -- Carrie Kay Turner, 86, of Ullin, formerly of Pulaski and Mounds, Ill., died Sunday, Feb. 17, 2008, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

She was born Sept. 1, 1921, in Barlow, Ky., daughter of Charles Eric and Goldie Mae Moore McReynolds. She and Lloyd Turner were married Jan. 29, 1954. He died July 17, 1991.

Turner was a veteran of World War II, serving with the 8th Air Force, 417th Signal Battalion.

She was a telephone operator for Illinois Bell for 27 years. She was site manager of the Senior Citizens Center in Mounds 17 years. She was a member of First United Methodist Church, American Legion and Disabled American Veterans.

Survivors include a son, Loyd Turner of St. Louis; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, a sister and a brother.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Crain Funeral Home in Tamms, Ill.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with Terry Kern officiating. Burial will be in Green Lawn Memorial Gardens in Villa Ridge, Ill. Full military honors will be conducted by a ritual team of area veterans groups, sponsored by Pulaski County VFW Post 8891.
