CAPE GIRARDEAU - Funeral services will be held today for Carrie K. Chappell, who died Friday, Feb. 1, 1991, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau. She was 86.
She was a resident of Chateau Girardeau. She was born March 2, 1904, in St. Charles, Mo., the daughter of Frederick W. and Caroline Astroth Hammer.
She had worked as bookkeeper for the Boy Scouts of America regional office in Cape Girardeau for 18 years, retiring in 1974. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Cape Girardeau.
Survivors include Donald Brod of St. Charles, Ill.; and two grandchildren, Andrew Brod of Durham, N.C., and Stephen Brod of Chicago, Ill.
Services will be held today at 3 p.m. at the Ford and Sons Mt. Auburn Chapel, with Dr. Charles Grant, pastor of the First Presbyterian Church, officiating. Internment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 1 p.m. today until time of the service.
