CAROLYN WATHEN

URBANDALE, Ill. -- Funeral for Carolyn Wathen of Urbandale will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Crain Funeral Home in Tamms. The Rev. Robert Burchyett will officiate. Burial will be in National Cemetery at Mound City.

Friends may call at the funeral home after 8 a.m. Friday.

Wathen, 74, died Tuesday, Jan. 18, 2000, at Good Samaritan Care Center in Metropolis.

She was born Feb. 14, 1926, in Bardwell, Ky., daughter of Zera Reese and Lela Holder. She and Paul T. Wathen were married Sept. 24, 1948. He died May 27, 1987.

Wathen was a member of Cairo Pentecostal Church.

Survivors include a daughter, Mary Welch of Paducah, Ky.; two sisters, Mara Kough of Farmington, Ky., Kathern Hogencamp of Martin, Tenn.; a brother, James Holder of Bardwell; a granddaughter; and two great-granddaughters.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a son, and a brother.
