PULASKI, Ill. -- Carolyn Wallace Showmaker, 64, of Pulaski died Tuesday, Sept. 26, 2006, at her home.
She was born Feb. 17, 1942, at Pulaski, daughter of Antone F. and Ellie Mayfield Wallace. She married Alvin R. Showmaker, who died Oct. 26, 2005.
The Showmakers were managers of Terrell's IGA Store in Union City, Tenn., 15 years. They also owned and operated Pulaski Food Mart and Pulaski Video Store 23 years. She was a member of Mount Pleasant Baptist Church in Pulaski.
Survivors include two brothers and a sister-in-law, Charles (Glenda) Wallace of Broken Arrow, Okla., Tony Wallace of Florissant, Mo.; two brothers-in-law, Gary (Marsha) Showmaker of Bonne Terre, Mo., Darrell Showmaker of Cairo, Ill.; two sisters-in-law, Beth Showmaker of Cairo, Rhonda Sue Showmaker of Mound City, Ill.; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
A graveside memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Green Lawn Memorial Gardens in Villa Ridge, Ill., with the Rev. Terry Kern officiating.
Family and friends are asked to meet at the cemetery prior to the service.
At the request of the family, expressions of sympathy may take the form of memorials to Mount Pleasant Baptist Church, c/o Sara Tutko, 413 Tutko Lane, Mounds, Ill., 62964, or to American Cancer Society, 4503 W. DeYoung Suite 200C, Marion, Ill., 62959, in memory of Carolyn W. Showmaker.
Jones Funeral Home in Villa Ridge is in charge of arrangements.
