Carolyn L. O'Howell, 72, of Scott City died Friday, April 20, 2012, at Chaffee Nursing Center, in Chaffee, Mo.
She was born Nov. 6, 1939, at Fornfelt, daughter of John A. and Ruby J. Smith Rogers Sr. She married Ray W. O'Howell Sr. on Feb. 11, 1961, at Des Plaines, Ill. He preceded her in death March 13, 1984.
Carolyn was a legal secretary at Harland Bartholomew and Associates in Memphis, Tenn., and then served as Scott City court clerk. She had owned and operated Video Express in Scott City. She was a member of Father's Arms Fellowship in Scott City.
She is survived by a son, Ray O'Howell Jr. of Scott City; a daughter, Cindy (Kevin) Groves of Cape Girardeau; three brothers, John Rogers Jr., Charles Rogers and Dale Rogers, all of Scott City; two grandchildren, Caleb and Andrea Gray; and three stepgrandchildren, Kristopher, Kollin and Kameron Groves.
She was also preceded in death by her parents.
Friends may call from 5 p.m. until time of service Monday at Father's Arms Fellowship in Scott City.
A memorial service will be held at 7 p.m. Monday at the church, with the Rev. Ken Strong officiating. Private burial will be at a later date in Lightner Memorial Cemetery in Scott City.
