TAMMS, Ill. -- Carolyn Sue Lance, 55, Tamms Route 1, died Wednesday, June 11, 1997, at Memorial Hospital in Carbondale.

She was born May 4, 1942, in Jackson County, daughter of Jessie Hill. She married Charles A. Lance.

Lance was a home health care employee with Shawnee Development Services in Karnak 15 years. She attended Cairo Pentecostal Church.

Survivors include her husband; two sons, Curtis Maupin of Indiana, Kenneth Maupin of Cairo; a daughter, Carolyn Lance of Vienna; five stepdaughters, Sharon Rennie and Peggy Mellein of West Frankfort, Linda Griffey of Olmsted, Joann Sharp of Vienna, Yulonda Coleson of Mounds; a sister, Roselee Hill, address unknown; five grandchildren; 18 stepgrandchildren; and six great-stepgrandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a brother, son, and stepgranddaughter.

Friends may call at Jones Funeral Home in Villa Ridge Sunday from 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m.

Graveside service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Sunday at Rose Hill Cemetery in Pulaski, with the Rev. Jeff Reed officiating.
