Carolyn L. Modglin, 24, of Lenxa, Kan., died Friday, Jan. 1, 1993, at St. Luke's Hospital in Kansas City, Mo.

She was born Sept. 14, 1968, in Cape Girardeau, daughter of A. J. and Betty Ernst Kluesner.

She married Ed Modglin on May 16, 1992, in Cape Girardeau.

Modglin graduated from Notre Dame High School in 1986. She graduated from Southeast Missouri State University in 1990. She received a master's degree in dietetics from Eastern Illinois University in 1991.

She was a member of the Gamma Sigma Sigma sorority at Southeast Missouri State University, a member of the American Dietetics Association and attended St. Vincent Catholic Church.

She worked as a registered dietitian at the Spelman Memorial Hospital in Smithville, Mo., since May, 1992.

Survivors include her husband, her parents, a brother, Greg Kluesner of Cape Girardeau; two sisters, Teresa Durden of Norcross, Ga., Cheryl Kluesner of Cape Girardeau; and her maternal grandparents, Wilfred and Anita Ernst of Perryville.

Friends may call at Ford and Sons Mt. Auburn Chapel from 5-8 p.m. today, with a parish prayer session at 7 p.m.

Funeral mass will be at St. Vincent De Paul Catholic Church at 10 a.m. on Tuesday with the Rev. Chris Robinson presiding. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery in Cape Girardeau.
