Carole Reddick

Carole L. Reddick of Scott City died Friday, May 27, 2022, at the age of 86.

She was born June 26, 1935, in Desloge, Missouri, daughter of Oliver "Gus" Ramsey and Mary Elizabeth Baldridge Ramsey. She married Carl F. Reddick on June 26, 1956, in Cantwell, Missouri.

Carole graduated with honors from Desloge High School in 1953. She retired from Job Service/MO Unemployment Office, where she was employed for 32 years. She was of Baptist faith. She was a loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, and her family provided her much joy. She loved to recognize the holidays, especially making sure that Santa was a special guest every Christmas for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed trout fishing and camping at Montauk, researching genealogy of the Ramsey/Ramsay Family back to Scottish Heritage, crocheting blankets for loved ones and playing dominoes, cards and Otrio with her Besties at Assisted Living.

She is survived by two daughters, Janice (Zane) Gray of Patterson, Missouri, and Donna (Steve) Essner of Scott City; a son, Rob (Deb) Reddick of Scott City; seven grandchildren, Jennifer (Craig) Smith, Angie (Michael) Morris, Dana (Philip) Spinks, Jared (Alicia) Essner, Corey (Lacey) Gray, Denae (Brandon) Phillips and Mallory (Shawn) Lee; 14 great grandchildren, Caleb, Carson and Audrey Smith, Alaina, Shane and Kara Morris, Evan and Aubrey Spinks, Landon Wood and Ethan Essner, Lainey Gray, Cash and Colt Phillips and Makenzie Lee.

Preceding her in death were her husband of 54 years; parents; sisters, Beulah Vandiver, Katie Schweizer, Golda "Blondie" Politte, Bertha "Bee Bee" Stotler, Doris Schulz and Pauline "Peg" Golden; and brother, William "Bill" Ramsey.

Friends may call from 9 to 11 a.m. Wednesday at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Scott City.

Funeral will follow at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with Pastor Bob Lenz officiating. Burial will follow in Lightner Memorial Cemetery in Scott City.
