Carole S. Stone, 79, of Oak Ridge passed away Monday, June 24, 2024, from a fatal car accident.
She was born Aug. 14, 1944, in Oak Ridge, the daughter of Ludolf and Anna Helen Grebe Ruch. She and Jackie Stone were married May 29, 1962. He preceded her in death on Feb. 14, 2022.
Carole was an Oak Ridge High School graduate. She worked at Hosiery Mill, Thorngate and Tri Con in Cape Girardeau. Carole attended Metro Business College. She then went to work as a secretary for Century 21. In retirement, she enjoyed working outside, gardening, cooking and watching hummingbirds and loved spending time with her grandkids.
Loving survivors include three children, Tamy (Jamie) Welker, of Jackson, Ricky (Amanda Littleton) Stone of Oak Ridge and Randy (Melissa Kimes) Stone of Perryville; four grandchildren, Landon Huber, Levi and Logan Jung and Colby Stone; sister, Judy (Charlie) Reinecke of Jackson; and brother, Lary Ruch of Marble Hill.
She was preceded in death by her husband of nearly 60 years and infant daughter, Debra Lynn Stone.
Services are private.
The family suggests contributions be made to Old Goshen Cemetery.
