Carol Ann Dunn Goodwin, 86, of Cape Girardeau passed away Monday, Feb. 23, 2015, at the Lutheran Home.
She was born July 15, 1928, at Birch Tree, Missouri, to Otto J. and Leta M. Finch Dunn. She and R.B. "Bob" Goodwin II were married Aug. 8, 1950, in Doniphan, Missouri. They had been married nearly 64 years when Bob passed away June 24, 2014.
Carol was a graduate of Southeast Missouri State University. Her teaching career spanned 31 years and included schools in Lilbourn and Chaffee, Missouri, Cape Girardeau and Jackson. She was a longtime member of Missouri State Teachers Association and Jackson CTA. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Cape Girardeau and a former member of First Baptist Church in Jackson and taught Sunday school at both churches.
Loving survivors include a daughter, Teresa (David) Bigham of Olive Branch, Illinois, and children, Katie (John) Ford and Kelsey Prater of McClure, Illinois; a son, Robert B. (Amy) Goodwin III of Fruitland and children Danielle Goodwin of Jonesboro, Arkansas, Samantha Goodwin of Batesville, Arkansas, and Addie and Tyler Gage of Fruitland; and four great-grandchildren, Kayman, Eva, Eliza, and Mavis Ford of McClure.
Visitation will be Wednesday from 4 to 7 p.m. at McCombs Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau.
The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Mark Boetcher officiating. Burial will be in Cape County Memorial Park.
Memorials may take the form of contributions to the Alzheimers Association.
