ORAN, Mo. — Carol Jean Dirnberger, daughter of the late Alphonse and Irene Thiele Stoverink, was born Jan. 9, 1945, and departed her life Wednesday, Aug. 24, 2022, at Ratliff Care Center in Cape Girardeau at the age of 77 years.
She was a former bookkeeper and co-owner of Dirnberger Feed Store in Oran and a post office clerk in Cape Girardeau.
Carol was a member of the Guardian Angel Catholic Church and St. Ann Sodality and was a resident of Oran.
On Sept. 10, 1966, she was united in marriage to Jerry Dirnberger in Jackson. He preceded her in death Feb. 10, 2010.
Survivors include two daughters, Donna (Mark) Beger of Fenton, Missouri, and Janis (P.J.) Lacy of Oran; granddaughter, Amanda Gosche of Oran; six brothers, Jim, Jerry, Dan, David, Mike and Alvin Stoverink; and four sisters, Mary Helen Seiler, Theresa Kern, Rita Koeppel and Linda Essner.
Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Oran.
Funeral Mass will then be celebrated at 11 a.m. Saturday at Guardian Angel Catholic Church, with the Rev. Joseph Kelly officiating. Interment will follow on the hill in Guardian Angel Catholic Cemetery.
