MARBLE HILL -- Cynthia Caroline "Carol" Barrett, 85, of Ferguson, died Monday, Dec. 21, 1992, at Missouri Baptist Hospital in St. Louis.
She was born July 13, 1907, at Marble Hill, daughter of John H. and Ida M. Kirkpatrick Berry. She married Theodore Nanney in 1928, who died in 1929. She later married Chester A. Barrett in 1932, who died Oct. 14, 1982.
Barrett taught school in rural Bollinger County, moving to St. Louis in 1940. She was a member of New Salem Baptist Church in Marble Hill.
Survivors include four sons, Ted Nanney and Jerry Barrett of St. Louis, Russell Barrett of St. Charles, Robert Barrett of Florissant; two daughters, Carolyn Panosh and Mary Wade of Florissant; two sisters, Mildred Peterman of St. Charles, May Baker of Marble Hill; 17 grandchildren, and 23 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by an infant daughter, three brothers and two sisters.
Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Liley Funeral Chapel in Marble Hill. The Rev. Randy Poole will officiate, with burial in Mt. Zion Cemetery near Scopus.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 3 p.m. today.
