CARMON S. SMITH

DELTA -- Funeral service for Carmon S. Smith of Adams, N.Y., was held Wednesday in Adams. Piddock Funeral Home there was in charge of arrangements.

Smith, 69 years old, died Monday, Feb. 25, 1991, in Adams.

He was born July 29, 1921, in Delta, son of Charles and Lucresia Mahaffey Smith. He married the former Margaret Cowen.

Smith taught school at Delta, Morley and Puxico, before moving to New York in 1947. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

Survivors include his wife; a son, Mike Smith of Adams; a daughter, Sally Jerome of Adams; two brothers, Clyde Smith of Delta, Odus Smith of Chaffee, and two grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a sister and brother.
