DONGOLA, Ill. -- Carmen Alene Bishop Harper, 78, of Fairfield, died Sunday, Nov. 27, 1994, at Deaconess Hospital in Evansville, Ind. She was born June 9, 1916, near Dongola, daughter of Roscoe and Lillie Cauble Jenkins. She married Marvin "Bud" Bishop, who died March 23, 1982. She later married Wayne Harper, who died Feb. 18, 1992...

DONGOLA, Ill. -- Carmen Alene Bishop Harper, 78, of Fairfield, died Sunday, Nov. 27, 1994, at Deaconess Hospital in Evansville, Ind.

She was born June 9, 1916, near Dongola, daughter of Roscoe and Lillie Cauble Jenkins. She married Marvin "Bud" Bishop, who died March 23, 1982. She later married Wayne Harper, who died Feb. 18, 1992.

Harper was a member of First Lutheran Church in Dongola, member and past officer of Ruby Chapter 462 Order of Eastern Star in Fairfield, and member and past officer of White Shrine of Jerusalem.

Survivors include a daughter, Beverly Bishop of Brackettville, Texas; a son, Kent Bishop of Carbondale; a brother, Van Jenkins of San Antonio, Texas; four grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by an infant daughter.

Friends may call at Crain Funeral Home in Dongola from 5-9 p.m. Friday, and prior to service Saturday. An Eastern Star service will be conducted by Chapter 462 at 7 p.m. Friday.

Funeral service will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Dennis Cooley officiating. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery.
