ANNA, Ill. -- Carl C. Orr, 87, of Anna died Monday, Nov. 4, 2002, at Parkway Manor in Marion, Ill.
He was born April 1, 1915, in Reynoldsville, Ill., son of John and Jesse Marie McCloud Orr. He and Elizabeth M. Graham were married in 1936. She died in 1986. He and Mary Evelyn Hill were married in 1988. She died in 2000.
Orr was a certified life underwriter and associated with Country Companies 43 years, 41 of which he was agency manager with Williamson, Union and Johnson County Agency. He was listed in Who's Who in Mid America in 1979. He retired in 1980.
He was a member of United Methodist Church, taught Sunday School and served in various capacities. He was a member of Carroll P. Foster VFW Post 3455, and Townsend F. Dodd American Legion Post 344, Kiwanis Club, Elks Lodge, and Moose Lodge. He had served on the RAVE Board.
Orr served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
Survivors include two daughters, Kathryn Harvey of Steeleville, Ill., Carla Brooks of Oklahoma City, Okla.; a brother, Harold Orr of Vienna, Ill.; a sister, Evelyn Livesay of Jonesboro, Ill.; five grandchildren; and a great-granddaughter.
He was preceded in death by a brother.
Friends may call at Crain Funeral Home in Anna from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home, with the Revs. Allen Campbell and Wes Henson officiating. Burial will be in Jonesboro Cemetery, with full military honors by VFW Post 3455.
