ANNA, Ill. — Carl G. McHughes, 81, of Anna died Saturday, Dec. 27, 2008, at his home. He was born Feb. 8, 1927, in Thebes, Ill., son of Willard C. and Mary Edith Brewer McHughes. He and Mary E. Smith were married Jan. 18, 1945, in Cairo, Ill. She preceded him in death on April 7, 2008...
ANNA, Ill. — Carl G. McHughes, 81, of Anna died Saturday, Dec. 27, 2008, at his home.
He was born Feb. 8, 1927, in Thebes, Ill., son of Willard C. and Mary Edith Brewer McHughes. He and Mary E. Smith were married Jan. 18, 1945, in Cairo, Ill. She preceded him in death on April 7, 2008.
Carl is survived by his three children, Sharon Hughes of Scott City, Carl G. McHughes Jr. of Anna and Judy McHughes of Clearlake Oaks, Calif.; two brothers; six sisters; and four grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife.
Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Rendleman and Hileman Funeral Home in Anna.
Graveside funeral will be at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at the National Cemetery in Mounds City, Ill., with military honors by Carroll P. Foster VFW Post 3455 in Anna.
Interment will be in the National Cemetery.
