SCOPUS, Mo. -- Carl Ray Mayfield, 68, of Scopus passed away Friday, Dec. 16, 2011, at his home. Born Aug. 11, 1943, near Scopus, he was the son of Lynn Darce and Jacie Fern Hahs Mayfield. SCOPUS, Mo. -- Carl Ray Mayfield, 68, of Scopus passed away Friday, Dec. 16, 2011, at his home. Born Aug. 11, 1943, near Scopus, he was the son of Lynn Darce and Jacie Fern Hahs Mayfield.

On Feb. 16, 1974, he married Linda L. Hawkins in Marble Hill, Mo. Carl was a self-employed businessman, owning Mayfield Garage and C & L Wood Products.

Besides his wife, he is survived by sons Timothy D. (Joelle) Mayfield of Scopus and Kevin W. (Paula) Mayfield of Jackson; daughters Diana R. Liley of Scopus, Carla M. (Brian) Dancz of Ohio and Kelly Whitworth of Marble Hill; a brother, Larry Mayfield of Scopus; two sisters, Oneta Walker of Chaffee, Mo., and Cathy Thompson of Marble Hill; 12 grandchildren, Joy and Carter Mayfield, Skyler, Devin, Zac and Trent Liley, B.J. and Mason Dancz, Alexis and Nathan Whitworth, Tia Coleman and Brandon Stinnett; and four great-grandchildren, Reagon Dancz, Kaylin Coleman, and Hayley and Brooklyn Stinnett. His parents and a sister, Patsy Mayfield, preceded him in death.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at Hutchings Funeral Chapel in Marble Hill.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Don Cook officiating. Burial will follow at Bollinger County Memorial Park Cemetery.
