ANNA, Ill. -- Carl M. Mayberry, 78, of Anna died Wednesday, May 18, 2005, at Union County Hospital.
He was born Dec. 13, 1926, in McClure, Ill., son of the Rev. Charles and Clola Brown Mayberry. He and Violet Cline were married Aug. 5, 1947, in Anna.
Mayberry operated Carl's Alignment Service in Cape Girardeau from 1962 to 1975, and then was a rural mail carrier many years. He was a member of Tamms Pentecostal Church.
Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Darlene Primas; a son, Melvin Mayberry; his mother; a brother, Charles Mayberry Jr., all of Anna; two sisters, Anita Harris of Jonesboro, Ill., Bessie Galiher of Florence, Ky.; and three grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father, a sister and two brothers.
Friends may call at Hileman Funeral Home in Jonesboro from 4 to 8 p.m. today.
The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with the Revs. James McLane, Mike Blue and Clifton Galiher officiating. Burial will be in Valley Mission Cemetery.
