BELL CITY -- Carl Lester Holyfield, 48, of Indianapolis, Ind., died Sunday, April 24, 1994, in Indianapolis. BELL CITY -- Carl Lester Holyfield, 48, of Indianapolis, Ind., died Sunday, April 24, 1994, in Indianapolis.

He was born Sept. 23, 1945, in Hattieville, Ark., son of Orville Virgil and Lucy Rackley Holyfield.

Holyfield was a heavy equipment operator with Olen Brass Corp. in Indianapolis. He was a member of Murray Lane Baptist Church in Sikeston, and veteran of the U.S. Air Force.

Survivors include his mother of Bell City; five brothers, O.V. Holyfield of Pinckneyville, Ill., Rayburn Holyfield of Grafton, Ill., William Holyfield of Bell City, David Holyfield of Bloomfield, Roy Holyfield of Anchorage, Alaska; five sisters, Lou Clark of Wright City, Joyce Staggs of Horn Lake, Miss., Emma Hedrick of Russellville, Ark., Barbara Townsend of Dexter, and Jane Pickrell of Indianapolis.

Friends may call at Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home in Bloomfield after 6 p.m. today.

Funeral service will be at the chapel at 1 p.m. Wednesday, with the Rev. Lynn Ash officiating. Burial will be in Garden of Memories Cemetery at Sikeston.
