Carl Louis Hoefer, 95, of Doniphan, died Friday, Dec. 17, 1993, at St. Mary's Hospital in Centralia, Ill.
He was born March 1, 1898, in Ripley County, Mo.
He married Mazie M. Turner April 20, 1918. She preceded him in death on Nov. 12, 1986.
He was a member of Brotherhood Railroad Trainmen, Masonic Order of Doniphan, and the Baptist Church.
He worked for the Missouri Pacific Railroad 48 years before retiring.
Survivors include sons, Jack C. Hoefer, Knoxville, Tenn, and Joe Hoefer, Doniphan; daughters, Frances Tooke and Mary L. Nenninger of Cape Girardeau, Marjorie Thompson, LeGrand, Ore., Betty Hoefer and Rose Marie Smith, both of Centralia, Martha Hoefer, St. Charles, Mo., Shirley Whitelock, Eureka, Mo.; sister, Rue Lackey of St. Charles; 21 grand children; 28 great grandchildren and 4 great, great grandchildren.
Service will be held Monday at 11 a.m. at Edwards Funeral Home in Doniphan. Interment will be Doniphan Cemetery.
Friends may call after 5 p.m. today. A Masonic rites will also be held today.
