CAPE GIRARDEAU -- Funeral service for Carl J. Wright, 1852 Woodlawn, will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at Ford and Sons Mt. Auburn Chapel. The Rev. Neil Stein will officiate, with burial in Memorial Park.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 4-8 p.m. today.
Wright, 81 years old, died Monday, March 4, 1991, at Imperial Manor Convalescent Center in Madison, Tenn.
He was born Jan. 7, 1910, at Illmo, son of Earnis and Nora Davenport Wright. He and the former Kathryn Keeney were married Oct. 6, 1936, in Metropolis, Ill. She died July 11, 1962.
Wright was a conductor on the Cottonbelt Railroad 45 years, and a member of Centenary United Methodist Church.
Survivors include two sons, Charles Wright of Madison, Wis., John Wright of Atlanta, Ga.; two daughters, Kay Armstrong of Nashville, Tenn., Sally Metz of Poplar Bluff; a brother, Harold Wright of Cape; a sister, Muriel Kirkindall of Jonesboro, Ark.; six grandchildren, and a great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Earnis of Cape, and a sister, Fern Arnold of Scott City.
