Carl D. Hamilton, 76, of Jackson passed away Saturday, Sept. 19, 2015, at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau.

He was born Oct. 11, 1938, in Cape Girardeau County to Hershel and Alfreda Dickerson Hamilton. He and Nelda Jean Friese were married March 31, 1979, in Millersville.

Carl served in the U.S. Navy from 1955 to 1959. For many years, he owned and operated the former Collections of Credit in Cape Girardeau.

He and Nelda Jean previously attended the Methodist Church in Millersville. Carl enjoyed fishing with Nelda Jean and deer hunting.

Loving survivors include his wife of 36 years, Nelda Jean of Jackson; three chldren, Cynthia, Carla and Mike; five siblings, Doris Yahn of Chaffee, Missouri, Lewis Hamilton of Rockview, Missouri, Kenneth Hamilton of Cape Girardeau, Larry Hamilton of Lowndes, Missouri, and Linda Lands of Chaffee; and 11 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Visitation will be from 10:30 a.m. to service time Tuesday at McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson.

The funeral will be at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Janet Hopkins officiating.

Burial will follow in New Salem Cemetery at Daisy, Missouri.

Memorials may take the form of contributions to New Salem Cemetery or the Jackson Senior Center.
