PERRYVILLE -- Carl E. "Tooter" Franklin, 81, of Perryville died Sunday, Oct. 31, 1999, at the Perry County Nursing Home.He was born Oct. 14, 1918, in Perry County, son of Charles and Elizabeth Cissell Franklin. He and Elda Schott were married Dec. 28, 1946.He was a veteran of World War II and was a member of the St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church.Survivors include his wife; a son, Gary Franklin of St. Louis; four daughters, Sandra Hudson of Imperial, Sharon Schindler of Arnold, Dianne Balsman of Barnhart and Donna Schremp of Perryville; a brother, Ira Franklin of St. Louis; a sister, Mamie Brewer of Brewer; 13 grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.He was preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters.Friends may call from 4-9 p.m. today and from 6:30-10:45 a.m. Tuesday at Young and Sons Chapel. Parish wake service will be at 6 p.m. today.Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church. The Rev. Kevin Fausz will officiate, with burial in Mt. Hope Cemetery.
