DONGOLA, Ill. -- Funeral service for Carl Fisher of Dongola will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at First Baptist Church. The Revs. Paul Sadler and Carl Don Fisher will officiate, with burial in American Legion Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 5-8 p.m. today, and Friday from 8 a.m. to service time.
Fisher, 80, died Tuesday, July 29, 1997, at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau, Mo.
He was born Dec. 25, 1916, in Dongola, son of Lee and Addie Aden Fisher. He and Lula Mae Perkins were married July 14, 1935.
Fisher pastored churches in Southern Illinois 37 years, and was employed at Southern Illinois Electric Co-Op 35 years. He was a member of First Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Carl Don Fisher of Thebes; a sister, Margaret Horn of Anna; three granddaughters; and seven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, his parents, two brothers, and six sisters.
