GIDEON -- Carl Franklin Cecil, 74, of Gideon, died Thursday, Sept. 28, 1995, at Gideon Care Center.
He was born June 8, 1921, in Blytheville, Ark., son of Dennis John and Nora Glasscock Cecil. He and Mildred Kathryn Meadows were married Oct. 9, 1936, in Caruthersville. She died April 18, 1975.
Formerly of Malden, Cecil was a self-employed farmer. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
Survivors include five sons, Larry and Mike Cecil of Malden, Gary Cecil of Blytheville, Joe and Frank Cecil of Dexter; three daughters, Gayle Rodgers of Bernie, Linda Kilgore of Forrest City, Ark., Brenda Sprenke of Imperial; a brother, Benny Cecil of Lilbourn; three sisters, Adalene Swanner of Cadiz, Ky., Kathleen Pfeffer of Cape Girardeau, Earlene Spears of Indianapolis, Ind.; 19 grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, son, two brothers and a sister.
Friends may call at Bradshaw Funeral Home in Malden after 6 p.m. today.
Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at the chapel, with the Rev. James Niederstadt officiating. Burial will be in Mounds Park Cemetery at Lilbourn.
