Carl E. Morrison, 78, 1710 Stoddard, died Thursday, June 17, 1993, at St. Francis Medical Center. He was born April 23, 1915, at Poplar Bluff, son of Fred and Jewell Friday Morrison. He and Idell Gilder were married Sept. 11, 1937, at Poplar Bluff. Morrison was a pipefitter 50 years with Local 562 of St. Louis, retiring in 1977. He was a member of First Baptist Church. Carl E. Morrison, 78, 1710 Stoddard, died Thursday, June 17, 1993, at St. Francis Medical Center.

He was born April 23, 1915, at Poplar Bluff, son of Fred and Jewell Friday Morrison. He and Idell Gilder were married Sept. 11, 1937, at Poplar Bluff.

Morrison was a pipefitter 50 years with Local 562 of St. Louis, retiring in 1977. He was a member of First Baptist Church. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.

Survivors include his wife; a son, Roy Morrison of Valdosta, Ga.; a daughter, Mary Jo Tolbert of Cape Girardeau; three sisters, Mary Lacy of Woodland Hills, Calif., O'Velma Magill and Edna Magill of Poplar Bluff; four grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two brothers and a sister.

Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Ford and Sons Mt. Auburn Chapel. The Rev. S.S. Borum will officiate, with burial in Memorial Park.

Friends may call at the funeral home from 4-8 p.m. today.
