CAMPBELL -- Funeral service for Carl Eugene Dinkens, Campbell Route 2, will be held at 10 a.m. today at Bradshaw Funeral Home in Kennett. The Rev. Ethel Meyers will officiate, with burial in Memorial Gardens at Kennett.

Dinkens, 74, died Monday, Dec. 29, 1997, at the VA Hospital in Memphis, Tenn.

He was born Nov. 15, 1923, at Hahn, son of Charley Ervin and Sarah Mae Sturgeon Dinkens. He and Eve Lee Harmon were married Nov. 26, 1949, in Paragould, Ark.

Dinkens retired as a machinist from Commercial Honing of Hamlet, Ind. He was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars.

He was a corporal in the U.S. Marines during World War II.

Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Eva Pike of Elkhart, Ind.; five sisters, Jessie Mahon of Blytheville, Ark., Opal Bailey of Hayti, Effie Marsh of St. Louis, Idella Fee and Lois Rea of Marble Hill; a brother, Charles Dinkens of Marble Hill; and two grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a grandson.
