Carl Eugene Curry, 76, of Jackson passed away Monday, April 26, 2010, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

He was born July 7, 1933, in Providence, Ky., son of Carl and Katie Robison Curry.

Carl attended Oak Ridge schools, and was a 1952 graduate of Jackson High School.

He was inducted into the U.S. Navy in October 1952, and was honorably discharged as a chief radioman Aug. 1, 1983.

After service, he received a bachelor's degree in business administration from Southeast Missouri State University. He was an office manager and real estate agent for Century 21 Realty in Jackson, and later worked for Dutch Enterprises. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Jackson and a life member of VFW Post 3838 in Cape Girardeau.

Loving survivors include a sister, Betty J. (the late Clark) Cowan of Oak Ridge; a nephew, Dr. Mike Cowan of Oak Ridge; an uncle, Albert Robison of Jackson; great-nephews and a great- niece, Jason Cowan of Biehle, Mo., Kimberly Cowan of St. Louis, Jeffrey Cowan of St. Louis, and their mother, Kathy (the late Kevin) Cowan of Biehle.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Alice May Curry.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with the Revs. Jon Sedgwick of First Baptist Church of Oak Ridge and Tommy Weems of First Baptist Church of Jackson officiating. Interment will be in Missouri State Veterans Cemetery at Bloomfield, Mo., with full military honors.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
