Cardell "Broadway" Withers Sr., 65, of Jackson passed away Saturday, Aug. 20, 2016, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

He was born Dec. 15, 1950, in Monticello, Arkansas, son of Samuel and Callie Franklin Withers. He and Lois Wade were married Aug. 1, 1993. She survives.

Cardell worked at General Motors in Kansas City, Missouri, and Blue Ridge Mazda in Kansas City. He owned and operated Withers Lawn Service in Jackson.

He was a member of Mount Pelium A.M.E. Church in Longview, Arkansas. He enjoyed listening to music, cooking and watching Westerns and boxing.

Loving survivors include his wife, Lois Withers of Jackson; seven children, Kim Withers of Kansas City, Cardell Withers Jr., of Branson, Missouri, Donnie Withers of Kansas City, Terrell Withers of Kansas City, Marnell Wade of Mesquite, Texas, Malicia Dillon of St. Louis and Hollis Dillon Jr. of Tucson, Arizona; four brothers, Johnny Withers of Crossett, Arkansas, Cleophus (Laura) Withers of Cape Girardeau, Martin Withers of Branson and Marcus Withers of Little Rock, Arkansas; three sisters, Bobbie Bankston of Crossett and Pamela (Samuel) Jamison and Kandice Withers of Monticello; an aunt, Clantieen Miller of Fort Hill, Arkansas; 20 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, family and loved ones.

He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, Don S., D.S. and Freddie Withers.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday at McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson.

The funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, with the Rev. Howard McGee officiating.

Burial will be in Russell Heights Cemetery in Jackson.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the American Lung Association.
