WOLF LAKE, Ill. -- Capt. E.A. Poe, 62, of Nashville, Tenn., formerly of Wolf Lake, died Tuesday, Dec. 28, 1993, at Nashville Memorial Hospital.
He was born Sept. 14, 1931, in Cape Girardeau, son of Elbert and Lola Wilson Poe. He and Arlene Miller were married Jan. 19, 1952, in Wolf Lake.
Poe was captain of the General Jackson Showboat in Nashville. He was a member of Galilee Baptist Church here, and National River Hall of Fame in Dubuque, Iowa.
Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Richelieu Holden of Cuba, Ill., Dana Cavaness of Wolf Lake; a brother, James Raney Poe of Grand Tower; a sister, Marion Clark of Taylorville, and two grandchildren.
Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Lutz and Rendleman Funeral Chapel in Anna. The Rev. John Cripps and Nathan Cline will officiate, with burial in Walker Hill Cemetery at Grand Tower.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 5-9 p.m. today.
