ANNA, Ill. -- Calvin "Doc" Leslie, 81, of Anna died Sunday, May 24, 1998, at the Illinois Veterans Home in Anna.

He was born in Reynoldsville July 31, 1916, son of John and Hattie Davidson Leslie. He was married to Ruth Ann Leslie. She died in 1976.

He was employed as a railroad brakeman and was a World War II veteran. He held memberships in First Baptist Church of Anna and VFW Carroll P. Foster Post 3455 of Anna.

Survivors include two daughters, Claudia Burnham of Anna and Trena Newman of Dongola; four sons, John Leslie of Honolulu, Hawaii, Rand Leslie of Pacific, Mo., Wayne Leslie of Granite City and Joe Biggs of Millstadt; 14 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Friends may call from 9 to 10 a.m. Wednesday at Hileman & Parr Funeral Services in Jonesboro. Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Ken Wilson officiating. Interment will be in Jefferson Barracks V.A. Cemetery.
