SIKESTON -- Funeral service for Dessa Calera Lopp Parks of Sikeston will be held at 11 a.m. today at Tanner Street Church of God. The Rev. Carl Addison will officiate, with burial in Garden of Memories Cemetery.
Friends may call at the church from 10 a.m. to service time.
Nunnelee Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
Parks, 86, died Sunday, Nov. 10, 1996, at Clearview Nursing Center.
She was born Feb. 21, 1910, in Anderson, Ala., daughter of William James and Martha E. Willis Hogue. She and Joseph Albert Lopp were married Dec. 16, 1928. He died July 25, 1968. She married Hester L. Parks Nov. 24, 1973. He died Jan. 14, 1987.
Parks worked 23 years as a restaurant and school cook, including 12 years with Sikeston Public Schools. She was a member of Tanner Street Church.
Survivors include four sons, Lowell Lopp of St. Charles, Ted Lopp of Greenville, Ind., Jack Lopp of Sikeston, Dan Lopp of New Albany, Ind.; three daughters, Bonnie Noles of Sikeston, Brenda Crawford of Cincinnati, Ohio, Cherry Sanders of St. Peters; five brothers, Rev. Grady Hogue of Indianapolis, Ind., Rev. Everett Hogue of Scott Depot, W.Va., Dalton Hogue of Anderson, Ind., Riggle Hogue of Springfield, Finis Hogue of Sikeston; four sisters, Viola Stanford of Decatur, Ala., Pearl Stafford of Sikeston, Verla Horton of Anniston, Bonnie Bailey of Sikeston; 18 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by four sisters.
