MOUND CITY, Ill. -- Cabrini A. Bierbaum, 64, of Mound City died Monday, April 4, 2011, surrounded by family and friends. She was born Feb. 28, 1947, in Cairo, Ill., daughter of the late Walter W. and Roslyn Scheuing Waite. MOUND CITY, Ill. -- Cabrini A. Bierbaum, 64, of Mound City died Monday, April 4, 2011, surrounded by family and friends.

She was born Feb. 28, 1947, in Cairo, Ill., daughter of the late Walter W. and Roslyn Scheuing Waite.

Cabrini loved people and found great joy working the front desk at Daystar Care Center in Cairo.

She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Mound City, St. Mary's Sodality and Newman Auxiliary. She was a graduate of Southern Illinois University at Carbondale.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Ruth Bolar; and two brothers, Claude "Pistol" and Kenneth Waite.

She is survived by her husband, Clay Bierbaum of Mound City; two daughters, Roslyn (Jason) Smith of Olmsted, Ill., Holly (John) Mathis of Villa Ridge, Ill.; two sons, Ryan (Stacey) Bierbaum of Metropolis, Ill., Raub Bierbaum of Mound City; a grandson, Dustin Bierbaum of Metropolis, Ill.; three granddaughters, Lilly Bierbaum of Metropolis, Alora and Jacie Smith of Olmsted; several nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at St. Mary's Church. Parish prayers will be at 7:30.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Mary's Church, with the Rev. John Agbasiera as celebrant. Interment will be in the U.S. National Cemetery in Mound City, with the area Veterans Ritual Team serving as pallbearers and honorary pallbearers.

The family requests expressions of sympathy to take the form of contributions to St. Mary's Cemetery Fund, 517 Walnut St., Mound City, IL 62963, or Mound City National Cemetery Preservation Commission, P.O. Box 45, Mound City, IL 62963, in memory of Mrs. Bierbaum.

Barkett Funeral Home in Mound City is in charge of arrangements.
