ADVANCE -- Byron U. Teets, 82, of rural Advance died Saturday, June 27, 1998, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

He was born Feb. 17, 1916, at Swinton, son of Lester and Pearl Ann Arnett Teets. He and Sylvia Cox were married on April 1, 1939, at Benton.

He was a retired farmer.

Survivors include his wife; six daughters, Viola Wright, Lois Tackett and Joyce Cato, all of Advance, Jean Porter of Roseville, Mich., Iris Stigler of Royal Oak and Mary Ann Martin of Overland; three brothers, Elmo Teets of Dexter, Harding Teets of Advance and Jim Teets of Bloomfield; two sisters, Victoria Mann of Advance and Wanda Nunn of St. Louis; 18 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, brother and six sisters.

Friends may call at the Morgan Funeral Chapel at Advance from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday.

Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. The Rev. David Light will officiate, with burial at Gravel Hill Cemetery near Bell City.
