Funeral for Byford L. Lowry of Cape Girardeau will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Ford and Sons Mt. Auburn Chapel. Hal Greene will officiate. Entombment will be in Cape County Memorial Park Mausoleum.
Friends may call at the chapel from 4-8 p.m. Friday.
Lowry, 74, died Tuesday, May 22, 2001, at Fruitland, Mo.
He was born Aug. 1, 1926, in Union City, Ill., son of Ralph D. and Jewell Jones Lowry. He and Colleen Norris were married April 13, 1956, in Cobden, Ill.
Lowry was a truck driver with Cauble and Field three years, and owned and operated Plaza Supply Co. more than 20 years. He was a member of Cape Bible Chapel and VFW Post 3838.
He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Robert Lowry of Hailey, Idaho, Greg Lowry of Fruitland, Mo.; a daughter, Lisa Boedy of St. Louis; and eight grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
