PATTON -- Funeral for R.S. "Butch" Mungle of Patton will be held at 11 a.m. today at Liley Funeral Home in Patton. The Rev. Stella Turner will officiate. Burial will be in Patton Cemetery.
Mungle, 93, died Thursday, Jan. 20, 2000, at Elder Care Nursing Home in Marble Hill.
He was born Jan. 8, 1907, in Patton, son of Jefferson and Lucy Schell Mungle. He and Metta Marie Yamnitz were married Sept. 2, 1931. She died March 18, 1999.

Mungle was a retired farmer and stockman. He was a member of Patton United Methodist Church.
Survivors include three sons, Leroy and Bob Mungle of Patton, Arnold Mungle of St. Louis; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, four sisters and two grandchildren.
